The film's budget was $33 million.Released on September 22, 1995 by New Line Cinema, Seven was the seventh-highest-grossing film of the year, grossing over $327 million worldwide.It was well received by critics, who praised the film's darkness, brutality and themes. (keep it retro). I know that's just me.
But this wouldn't be a great movie if Brad Pitt's character hadn't pulled that trigger.

The third act is one of my favorite endings in film.I personally don't think the ending was much of a twist, but more of an ending that is left by the watcher's mind to interpret.It may not have been a twist but it did wrap things up rather nicely. Who can say they would have been stronger than Mills and not done exactly as John Doe knew he would? I don't think it's Fincher's best like many do. Starting with Se7en, Fincher has not dropped the ball.
And I couldn't help but feel it was the screenwriter saying "you won't believe this shit I came up with, you'll never see it coming".

I know I'm in the minority but I saw the twist coming and it kind of effected my enjoyment of the movie especially since the scene with Kevin Spacey in the car is trying to build the twist up.
